Cassia DeMayo Announces Release of “Heart, We Will Forget Him”
CD marks debut for American-born jazz vocalist

AARHUS, DK- With her new CD “Heart, We Will Forget Him,” a Gateway Music release, Cassia DeMayo makes a brilliant debut as an up and coming jazz artist to watch. The album has already received enthusiastic reviews. In the words of Ivan Rod (Gaffe Denmark), “open doors (and ears) is what this debut deserves.”

The nine-tracks in this collection, a tasteful mix of original compositions and select jazz standards, showcase what critic Martin Loft describes as a “warm, sensual world vocal.” Taking a minimalist approach, DeMayo uses space, patience and finessed phrasing to open up the lyric and express the emotional story of the song. Each track –from the tenderly wistful “My Party” to the sprightly “Lady Bird” and the unexpectedly metered “I Thought About You”– reflects DeMayo’s eloquent aesthetic, adroit musicianship and broad range of expression. The disc also features the talents of Alex Olesen on guitar, Tejs Dragheim on bass and Kristoffer Lysgaard Madsen on drums. The trio provides nuanced support throughout, allowing DeMayo’s voice to remain squarely in the forefront. Synnøve Søe ( calls the recording “a fantastic little debut.”

“Heart, We Will Forget Him” is presently in rotation on numerous radio stations, including “The Jazz UK” and “Virginia Music,” where it is featured as a recommended listen. The CD is available for purchase through the following: i-Tunes, Amazon, WiMP and Google Play.
